PIA Restores Lahore-Manchester Flights After 5 Years

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the restoration of its two-way flights between Lahore and Manchester after a five-year suspension, while weekly services between Islamabad and Beijing will also resume after a two-month break.

The national carrier said the restored UK route has received a strong response from travelers, with all 310 seats on the Lahore-Manchester flight scheduled for July 2 already fully booked.

According to PIA, the first Manchester-Lahore flight will operate on July 1, followed by the inaugural Lahore-Manchester service on July 2, which will be operated using a Boeing 777.

The airline said bookings for 175 passengers have already been confirmed for the Lahore-Manchester service, while the July 2 flight has reached full capacity.

PIA’s UK operations were suspended in 2020 following a ban on the airline’s services to the United Kingdom. The carrier noted that Islamabad-Manchester flights resumed last year, and the return of the Lahore-Manchester route marks another milestone in rebuilding its UK network.

PIA also confirmed that weekly two-way flights between Islamabad and Beijing will resume on July 3. The route had been suspended since April 10 due to the security situation in the Middle East.

The Islamabad-Beijing service will operate once a week using a Boeing 777 aircraft.

The airline said the restoration of both routes will improve travel options for passengers heading to the United Kingdom and China while strengthening PIA’s international flight network.

PIA added that it remains committed to gradually restoring suspended international services as operational conditions continue to improve.
