[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Abdul Rehman has been appointed as Pakistan’s Head Coach for the three-match Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan in Sharjah.
Umar Gul will continue as bowling coach, while Mohammad Yousuf and Abdul Majeed will continue as batting and fielding coaches, respectively.
Abdul Rehman is a seasoned coach who has held positions at the domestic level. He was the head coach of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when they won the National T20 Championship and the Pakistan Cup, as well as sharing the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy with Central Punjab. He also won two National T20s as the head coach of Peshawar Panthers and was an assistant coach for Peshawar Zalmi when they won the HBL Pakistan Super League in 2017.
Rahman has also spent the last four years as an assistant coach for Multan Sultans, working under Andy Flower. He was the Pakistan U19 coach during Bangladesh’s November tour of Multan.

Umar Gul, one of Pakistan’s most famous T20 bowlers, served as Afghanistan’s bowling coach in the recent ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2022. From 2007 to 2016, he got 85 wickets at 16.97 in 60 T20Is.
Pakistan will fly for the United Arab Emirates on March 22 to face Afghanistan in three Twenty20 Internationals in Sharjah on March 24, 26, and 27. This is the first encounter between the two sides in a bilateral series. Pakistan and Afghanistan have played three Twenty20 Internationals and four One-Day Internationals, with Pakistan winning all three.
