Friday’s Parliament House meeting included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, PTI’s Amir Dogar, JUI-F’s Shahida Akhtar Ali, PML-N’s Irfan Siddiqui, MQM’s Aminul Haque, PPP’s Raja Pervez Ashraf, and Sherry Rehman.
ANP’s proposal to remove “Khyber” from the province’s name was dropped, leading to their boycott, and Aimal Wali Khan did not attend.
PTI’s Amir Dogar stated that constitutional amendments were the government’s responsibility. He highlighted privacy violations, forced legislation, and risk to party members, adding that Maulana Fazlur Rehman backed their stance.
The committee approved the draft, excluding allied parties’ suggestions, which will now go to the cabinet before reaching the National Assembly and Senate.
