Pakistan Clinches 37-Run Victory Over Bangladesh in T20I Series Opener

Pakistan secured a commanding 37-run win against Bangladesh in the first T20I of the series, played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.

Pakistan’s Dominant Batting Display

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Pakistan posted a formidable total of 201/7 in their 20 overs. Captain Salman Agha led from the front with a well-crafted 56 off 34 balls, while Hasan Nawaz thrilled the crowd with an explosive 44 off just 22 balls, which included four sixes and two boundaries.

Shadab Khan chipped in with 48 runs, and Mohammad Haris added 31, helping Pakistan cross the 200-run mark. However, Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub fell early, failing to make an impact. Faheem Ashraf and Hasan Ali remained unbeaten with 11 and 1 runs, respectively.

Bangladesh Falls Short in the Chase

Chasing a target of 202, Bangladesh managed 164 all out in the final over. Skipper Litton Das top-scored with 48, while Jaker Ali (36), Tanzid Hasan (31), and Towhid Hridoy (17) were the only batters to make significant contributions. The rest of the lineup struggled, with no other batsman reaching double figures.

Hasan Ali Shines with the Ball

Pakistan’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Hasan Ali, who delivered a match-winning performance, claiming five wickets. Shadab Khan supported well with two wickets, while Faheem Ashraf, Khushdil Shah, and Salman Agha picked up one wicket each to seal the win.

For Bangladesh, Shoriful Islam stood out with two wickets, while Mehidy Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Rishad Hossain, and Shamim Hossain took one wicket apiece.
