Pakistan has announced that fresh talks with Afghanistan will be held tomorrow, reaffirming the need for Kabul to fulfill its commitments made under the Doha negotiations.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andarabi stated that Pakistan expects Afghanistan to act on its earlier pledges to ensure peace, border stability, and counterterrorism cooperation. The reminder comes as both sides prepare for another round of high-level discussions aimed at addressing recent tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Speaking at a press briefing, Andarabi emphasized that Pakistan values constructive engagement with its neighbor but expects reciprocal action in line with previous agreements. He said that Afghanistan must demonstrate responsibility by implementing the promises it made during the Doha talks — a framework designed to foster regional peace and mutual trust.
Diplomatic observers note that this round of talks holds significant importance, especially given the recent border security issues and trade disruptions between the two countries. The meetings are expected to cover cross-border movement, counterterrorism strategies, and economic collaboration.
