Pakistan Railways Suspends Services Amid Security Concerns Following PTI Protest Calls
Pakistan Railways has suspended all train services between Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar due to escalating security concerns following calls for protests by a key political party. The suspension also affects services from Multan and Faisalabad to Rawalpindi, with all 25 train bookings scheduled for Sunday, November 24, being canceled.

Passengers affected by the cancellations are being offered immediate refunds through temporary booking counters set up at sealed railway stations. A significant police presence has been deployed at these stations, and access is highly restricted.
The suspension of train services comes in response to heightened security measures in Islamabad, where entry and exit points have been blocked with commercial containers to prevent the influx of protesters. Alongside this, mobile internet services have been disrupted in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, with several nearby cities reporting partial internet outages, though mobile networks remain operational. These disruptions highlight the growing tension in the region as the protests continue to unfold.
