Pakistan Launches Major Cyber Offensive On Indian Infrastructure

As part of its wider Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, Pakistan has initiated a large-scale cyber offensive targeting key Indian digital systems, security sources confirmed. Several high-profile Indian websites and institutions have reportedly been compromised in what is being called a coordinated cyber strike.

Among the affected platforms is the official website of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), along with other critical agencies such as the Crime Research Investigation Agency, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited, and Bharat Earth Movers Limited. Entire datasets from these sites have reportedly been wiped clean.

In addition to website defacements, security sources disclosed significant data breaches involving sensitive information from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the Border Security Force, the Indian Air Force, and the Maharashtra Election Commission. More than 2,500 surveillance cameras across India were also reportedly hacked, causing major disruptions to security monitoring.

A separate cyberattack on the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited reportedly disabled parts of the state’s power grid, leading to extensive blackouts and the erasure of commercial and domestic meter records. Officials described the offensive as a strategic move aimed at undermining India’s technological and defense capabilities.
