Pakistan And Russia Plans To Enhance Bilateral Trade Relations

Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Danila V. Ganich, met with Commerce Minister Gohar Ejaz at the Commerce Ministry. The meeting focused on discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral trade relations between the two countries.

Both sides affirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation with the aim of boosting the volume of bilateral trade. This commitment underscores the mutual interest in strengthening the enduring friendship and economic partnership between Pakistan and Russia.

In the fiscal year 2022-23, the total trade between Pakistan and Russia reached $920 million. Pakistan’s exports to Russia during this period amounted to $74 million, while imports from Russia totaled $846 million.

Pakistan’s exports to Russia cover a wide range of products, including citrus fruit, leather apparel, ready-made garments, potatoes, home textiles, woven cotton fabrics, surgical and medical equipment, woven fabric of synthetic staple fiber, and salt, among others.
