OnePlus Open, a top-notch foldable device, competes favorably with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 in terms of pricing. Surprisingly, during its launch, OnePlus made no mention of stylus compatibility, although it does support pen input with the Oppo Pen, aligning with the fact that the OnePlus Open is essentially a rebranded Oppo Find N3.

This discovery was made by a Reddit user named Rashed341, who shared a video on the OnePlus Subreddit demonstrating how effectively the Oppo Pen functions on both the primary and cover screens of the OnePlus Open. The video lacks audio but clearly showcases the seamless integration of the Oppo Pen with the foldable device.

Interestingly, the OnePlus Open includes a stylus menu in its settings, even though the Oppo Pen was initially designed for the Oppo Find N2, the predecessor of the Find N3, on which the OnePlus Open is based.

OnePlus’s decision to initially omit stylus support from the OnePlus Open’s launch and promotional materials is somewhat puzzling. Nonetheless, this revelation presents a valuable enhancement for current and prospective OnePlus Open users.

If you own or plan to purchase the OnePlus Open and value stylus functionality, it’s worth considering the Oppo Pen, which is available for approximately $40-$45 on Oppo’s website.
