Data from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association revealed that local cement dispatches in October 2023 were 3.292 million tons, a 15.38% decrease from 3.890 million tons in October 2022. However, exports showed a significant 97.33% increase, rising from 362,350 tons in October 2022 to 715,028 tons in October 2023.
In October 2023, cement mills in the northern region dispatched 2.903 million tons, marking an 11.35% decline compared to 3.275 million tons in October 2022. Meanwhile, mills in the southern region dispatched 1.104 million tons, a 12.90% increase from 0.978 million tons in October 2022.

In the domestic market, northern mills dispatched 2.780 million tons in October 2023, a decrease of 11.57% from 3.143 million tons in October 2022. Southern mills dispatched 512,320 tons in local markets during October 2023, representing a 31.41% decrease from the 746,927 tons dispatched in October 2022.
Exports from northern-based mills decreased by 6.16%, with quantities decreasing from 131,111 tons in October 2022 to 123,029 tons in October 2023. Exports from the southern region, however, saw a substantial 156.01% increase, reaching 591,999 tons in October 2023, up from 231,239 tons in the same month the previous year.
Between July and October 2023, South-based mills dispatched 2.312 million tons domestically, a 10.65% increase over the 2.090 million tons dispatched during the same period in the previous fiscal year. South-based exports also increased by 99.15%, reaching 1.915 million tons during the same period in 2023, compared to 0.962 million tons in the previous year.
Overall, total dispatches by South-based mills during the first four months of the current fiscal year increased by 38.54%, reaching 4.227 million tons, compared to 3.051 million tons during the same period in the previous fiscal year.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
