Nvidia plans to launch Jetson Thor in 2025, a new compact computing solution for humanoid robots, aiming to support the global robotics industry rather than competing with companies like Tesla. Deepu Talla, Nvidia’s vice president of robotics, emphasized the company’s goal to provide essential technology to “hundreds of thousands” of robot makers worldwide.

Technological advances, such as generative AI models and the ability to train robots in simulated environments, have enhanced humanoid robots’ intelligence, capabilities, and task-solving abilities. Nvidia’s focus on robotics reflects its adaptation to market changes, as major customers like Amazon and Google are developing their own AI chips to reduce dependence on Nvidia.
