NIH Issues Congo Fever Warning Before Eid Ul Azha

The National Institute of Health (NIH) has issued a warning about the potential spread of the Congo virus due to the increased interaction with sacrificial animals leading up to Eidul Azha.

The NIH reported that there were 101 cases of the Congo virus in the country over the past year. The institute expressed concerns that the virus could spread more widely during Eidul Azha, when people have close contact with sacrificial animals.

In its advisory, the NIH urged relevant authorities to stay vigilant and implement necessary precautions to reduce the risk. The advisory emphasized the increased interaction between people and animals during this period, which could facilitate the spread of the virus.

To protect against the Congo virus, the NIH recommended that both citizens and relevant departments take preventive measures. One specific suggestion is for people to wear light-colored clothing, which makes it easier to spot ticks that might carry the virus.

The NIH stressed the need for vigilance and proactive measures to ensure public health safety during the festive season.
