The shortlisted players Simon Harmer, Taijul Islam, and Mohammad Nawaz delivered standout contributions across their respective series, making a strong impact on the international stage.

South African spinner Simon Harmer earned his nomination after a remarkable Test series against India, where South Africa celebrated their first away series win in the country in 25 years. Harmer’s sharp, disciplined bowling proved decisive, as he picked up an impressive 17 wickets across two Tests. His extraordinary average of 8.94 highlighted his dominance, especially during his memorable 6/37 spell that helped turn the momentum in South Africa’s favor. For his overall performance, he was rightly named Player of the Series.

Bangladesh’s left-arm spinner Taijul Islam also secured a place on the list following a strong showing in Bangladesh’s 2-0 Test victory over Ireland. Taijul’s consistency and control allowed him to take 13 wickets in the series, playing a central role in Bangladesh’s comprehensive wins. His crucial breakthroughs at key moments and his ability to maintain pressure from one end earned him the Player of the Series award as well.

Pakistan’s all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz delivered impactful performances across formats, making him another strong contender. In the ODI tri-series, Nawaz scored 104 runs and claimed four wickets. He continued his form in T20Is, where he took 11 wickets and contributed 52 runs. His most significant performance came in the final against Sri Lanka, where his 3/17 spell helped Pakistan clinch the title. Nawaz’s all-round consistency earned him the Player of the Series award, making his nomination well-deserved.

These three players stood out for their match-winning displays, making the November award highly competitive.
