In the IPL, Starc outlasted his fellow countryman Pat Cummins to claim the title of most expensive player. After a fierce bidding war between Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Hyderabad for the right to captain the 2023 World Cup, the 30-year-old was eventually signed by Sunrises Hyderabad (SRH) for INR 20.5 crore.
