Military Leaders Pledge to Fight 'Digital Terrorism', Ensure National Security

During the 265th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) held at GHQ in Rawalpindi, Pakistan’s top military leadership, led by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, strongly denounced what they termed as politically motivated ‘digital terrorism’. This orchestrated campaign, allegedly supported by foreign elements, aims to undermine state institutions. The Armed Forces, alongside the nation, vowed unity and resolve in defeating these hostile designs.

The conference paid solemn tribute to the supreme sacrifices of Pakistan’s Shuhadas (martyrs) from the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and civilians who have given their lives for peace and stability in the country. A comprehensive review of the internal and external security situation was conducted, focusing on “Azm-e-Istehkam,” a national strategy aimed at synchronizing counter-terrorism efforts to eradicate terrorism and illegal activities for long-term stability and economic prosperity.

The military leadership expressed concern over what they described as unwarranted criticism and deliberate misrepresentation of the military’s vision, believed to serve vested interests. The forum also deliberated on regional security dynamics, particularly in Afghanistan, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and security. Solidarity was expressed with the people of Kashmir and Palestine, condemning human rights abuses, war crimes, and genocide in these regions.

Emphasizing their awareness of a spectrum of challenges, the military leadership reiterated its commitment to fulfilling constitutionally mandated responsibilities, supported by Pakistan’s resilient populace. The conference underscored support for government initiatives aimed at boosting socio-economic growth and curbing illegal activities that undermine investor confidence, economic stability, and growth.

General Munir emphasized the Pakistan Army’s readiness to tackle both internal and external challenges, pledging to uphold high standards of professionalism and operational preparedness. He concluded by reaffirming the Army’s dedication to safeguarding Pakistan’s stability, prosperity, and sovereignty amid evolving challenges.
