Authorities have introduced strict new measures to improve transparency in Matric practical examinations. The reforms aim to reduce cheating and ensure fair evaluation for all students.
Under the new policy, students are not allowed to use practical record books purchased from the market. They also cannot submit notebooks prepared by teachers or other individuals.
Officials said the Matric examination system must reflect students’ own effort. Therefore, only self-prepared practical copies will be accepted for marking.
Muzammil Mahmood, Chairman of the Task Force on Examinations, issued the new directives. He emphasized that the Matric practical process must remain transparent and merit-based.
He stated that examiners will carefully verify each student’s practical notebook. They will compare handwriting to confirm that the work belongs to the candidate.
This step is designed to identify fake, copied, or pre-written practical records. It aims to discourage unfair practices in Matric exams.
According to the new instructions, every checked practical notebook will be torn after evaluation. Officials said this measure will prevent reuse or duplication of the same material.
The decision is part of broader efforts to improve the credibility of Matric examinations. Authorities believe the reforms will strengthen trust in the education system.
Chairman Muzammil Mahmood warned that strict action will be taken if the rules are not followed. He said both students and examination staff must comply with the new guidelines.
Education authorities said the Matric system has long faced issues related to copied practical work. The new measures aim to close these loopholes permanently.
Officials believe that enforcing originality in practical work will improve learning outcomes. It will also ensure that students gain real hands-on experience.
The Task Force on Examinations will closely monitor implementation of these rules. Any violations will be dealt with strictly under examination regulations.
