Massive accident at Sawan Bridge in Rawalpindi

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]A sad occurrence happened earlier today on Swan Bridge, GT Road, Rawalpindi. The update claims that a cement bag-laden truck lost control and hit several cars.

While the other automobiles were crushed by the accident, one car was thrown over the bridge and into the valley below. Numerous fatalities and serious injuries were reported as a result of the tragedy in the media.

To prevent traffic, the traffic police had to briefly close the bridge on both sides. Even though the bridge is currently open, the accident is causing all traffic, including those coming in from Bostan Road, Car Chowk, and High Court, to move slowly.

The police have arrived on the site and are attempting to control the ensuing pandemonium. It is suggested that the locals make appropriate travel arrangements.

The shutdown of Swan Bridge on one side is making the traffic situation at GT Road worse.

A recent tweet claims that as a result, traffic heading towards DHA 1 and 2 is having issues. The tweet highlights, citing a traffic warden, that a portion of the bridge has sustained damage and is unable to bear the weight of heavy traffic. The road’s opening date or likelihood were not mentioned by the warden.

Social media is flooded with videos of people stuck in traffic, expressing their dismay with the situation. The tweet also shares a motorist’s account, who stated that the DHA 1-bound traffic has to make a U-turn from Sawan Bridge.

He stated that it took him 50 minutes to make the turn, which is less than a km from Defence Chowk, as a result of the heavy traffic.

The local government has come under fire from the populace for not acting quickly enough to fix the problem.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
