LHC Imposes Rs2,000 Penalty For Helmet Violation In Punjab

In Punjab, Lahore High Court (LHC) has instructed traffic authorities to levy a substantial Rs2,000 penalty on motorbike riders who do not comply with helmet regulations. The LHC issued this directive while addressing petitions from citizens aiming to address smog-related issues in the province.

The judge also mandated a Rs5,000 fine for unauthorized car parking in greenbelt areas and directed the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) to take action against those engaged in such violations.

Furthermore, the court ordered the closure of brick kilns contributing to pollution in the city. It also insisted on the registration of criminal cases against officers who fail to follow court orders effectively.
