Security sources have indicated that individuals exceeding the permitted duration of their visit visas, typically one month, will now be granted an additional week to rectify their violation. Failure to comply and settle fines will result in deportation for both the visitor and their sponsor.

In response to the Ministry’s initiative to regularize residency status for violators, 652 individuals submitted requests on the first day of the grace period.

This grace period commenced on Sunday, March 17, and extends until June 17. The Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with relevant departments, is facilitating the process for residency law violators to adjust their status or leave the country during this period.

During the grace period, violators have the opportunity to rectify their status by settling fines and following specified procedures. Departing individuals may also return under new procedures.

Authorities have cautioned that those failing to comply within the grace period will face legal repercussions, including deportation and a ban on re-entry.
