England’s fast bowling coach, James Anderson, will miss the Pakistan tour due to his participation in Scotland’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, which concludes on October 6. He is expected to rejoin the team by the second day of the Test against Pakistan.

Despite his absence, Anderson, who retired from international cricket in July, continues to support the team remotely through WhatsApp. Known for his exceptional performance during the 2022 Pakistan tour, where he claimed eight wickets in two Tests, Anderson is now a mentor for England’s fast bowlers.

The team faces challenges as key bowlers Mark Wood and Ollie Robinson are unavailable—Wood due to injury and Robinson not selected. England’s fast bowling lineup includes Gus Atkinson, Brydon Carse, Matthew Potts, Ollie Stone, and Chris Woakes. Woakes is making his first Test appearance in Asia since 2016, and Ollie Stone will leave after day five for his wedding.

The three-match Test series between Pakistan and England begins on October 7 in Multan, with both teams aiming for strong performances after recent setbacks.
