Jaffar Express Rescue Operation Concludes All 33 Terrorists Eliminated

The Pakistan Army, in coordination with the Air Force, Frontier Corps (FC), and Special Services Group (SSG), has successfully concluded a high-risk rescue operation against terrorists who attacked the Jaffar Express near Bolan, Balochistan.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the operation resulted in the elimination of 33 terrorists, while all hostages were rescued in a phased manner. The terrorists had derailed the train around 1 AM on March 11, killing 21 passengers in a brutal act of terrorism.

Security forces launched an immediate recovery mission, ensuring the safe evacuation of civilians. The operation was conducted with extreme precision, neutralizing all threats, including suicide bombers. Four FC personnel were martyred in the initial operation, but no soldier lost their life during the final clearance phase.

Authorities revealed that the attackers were in contact with elements in Afghanistan. While most of the militants were eliminated, some managed to flee, and efforts are ongoing to track them down.

The train had 440 passengers on board at the time of the attack, and despite the terrorists using hostages as human shields, the security forces successfully rescued a significant number of them. The attackers had divided the hostages into three groups, each containing a suicide bomber, but the army’s tactical approach ensured that no civilian was harmed.

DG ISPR condemned the Indian media for spreading false narratives immediately after the attack, accusing them of using AI-generated content and misleading images to manipulate facts. He also criticized political and social figures who fail to take a strong stance against terrorism.

The military remains committed to eliminating terrorist threats, carrying out 160 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) daily. Security forces continue their efforts to secure the region, while a relief train has been dispatched to transport the remaining hostages from Panir railway station.
