Israeli Raid Claims Life Of Top Palestinian Officer

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Brigadier General Fayeq al-Mabhouh, head of police operations in Palestine, was reportedly killed in an Israeli raid at Al-Shifa Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip. Al-Mabhouh was actively involved in managing humanitarian aid efforts with Palestinian tribes and the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) in war-torn Gaza.

The Gaza media office condemned what they deemed as war crimes, accusing Tel Aviv of obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid to hundreds of thousands of people facing dire conditions in Gaza.

Additionally, Israeli forces claimed to have targeted a senior Hamas official, purportedly the third-ranking member of the organization’s Internal Security Service, in the same raid. Israeli authorities justified their actions, citing intelligence reports suggesting the presence of Hamas leaders at Al-Shifa Hospital.

The escalation in violence follows months of deadly conflict, initiated by a cross-border attack in October last year, which Hamas launched. The ensuing Israeli response has led to a significant loss of life, with over 31,700 Palestinians reportedly killed, primarily civilians including women and children. The conflict has also resulted in widespread destruction and severe shortages of essential supplies, forcing over 80 percent of the Gaza Strip’s population into internal displacement amidst a blockade on food, water, and medical aid.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
