Israel-Gaza War Resumes As Truce Deadline Passes

Arab media, citing sources affiliated with Hamas, reported gunfire and explosions in the northern Gaza Strip, specifically in the northwest of Gaza City, particularly around Khan Younis in the southern part of the region.

This incident coincided with Israeli military drones and fighter jets hovering in the skies over the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army has announced a resumption of hostilities against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, claiming that Hamas violated the truce by firing into Israeli territory.

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) activated its alarm system near the Israel-Gaza border after reports of a launch. The military reported the detection and interception of one launch through its air defense system.

Earlier, Israeli media indicated the activation of sirens as part of the Iron Dome missile defense system, which identifies incoming rockets. There have been no immediate statements from Palestinian armed groups.

According to Gaza’s government media office, the majority of the destroyed homes were situated in northern Gaza, including Gaza City. The media office reported that at least 50,000 families and their extended relatives are now homeless. Additionally, an estimated 250,000 housing units were partially destroyed during the Israeli bombing campaign that commenced across the besieged Palestinian territory on October 7.
