Islamabad International Airport has introduced a modern digital facility designed to enhance passenger convenience and further upgrade its airport services through technology-based solutions. This new initiative reflects the airport’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation and improved customer experience.
According to the Pakistan Airports Authority (Pakistan Airports Authority), a fully digital Lost and Found system has been launched, developed by its in-house IT team. The system allows passengers to report missing items and track them online through a dedicated digital platform. This step has been taken to ensure greater transparency, faster response times, and a more efficient recovery process for lost belongings.
With this advanced facility, travelers no longer need to depend on traditional manual procedures, which often involved delays and limited communication. Instead, they can now conveniently check the real-time status of their lost items using the online system, making the entire process more streamlined and user-friendly.
This latest development is part of a broader modernization drive at Islamabad International Airport, which has been actively upgrading its infrastructure and services. Earlier, the airport achieved a major milestone by becoming Pakistan’s first fully cashless airport, reflecting its strong shift toward digital operations.
Under the cashless system introduced by the Pakistan Airports Authority, all transactions within the airport premises—including airline ticketing, parking services, food courts, retail shops, and duty-free outlets—are now processed through digital payment methods.
Passengers can use a variety of modern payment options such as QR codes, mobile banking applications, digital wallets, and debit or credit cards. Airport authorities have emphasized that these measures are aimed at improving transparency, increasing operational efficiency, and providing a smoother travel experience.
Overall, these initiatives highlight the airport’s vision of becoming a fully smart and technology-driven aviation hub in Pakistan.
