Iranian Delegation Will Not Visit Islamabad for Second Round of US Talks Baqai

Iran has announced that its Delegation will not travel to Pakistan for the second round of talks with the United States. The decision comes at a time when tensions between the two countries remain high.

According to Ismail Baghaei, the move reflects a serious lack of trust in the current US administration. He said Tehran is not satisfied with Washington’s approach to negotiations. He also accused the US of making excessive demands and frequently changing its position.

Officials in Tehran stated that the planned Delegation will not participate unless conditions improve. They pointed to ongoing disagreements and what they described as unrealistic expectations from the US side. Iranian authorities believe these issues are blocking progress in diplomatic efforts.

Another major concern raised by Iran is the US naval presence in the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran has criticized these actions, calling them a violation of the ceasefire understanding. Officials said such activities increase pressure and create an environment that is not suitable for talks.

The second round of discussions was expected to take place in Islamabad. Pakistan has been playing a key role in facilitating dialogue between the two sides. However, the absence of the Iranian Delegation has created uncertainty about the future of these talks.

The announcement follows the first round of negotiations held in Pakistan. Those talks lasted more than 21 hours but ended without any agreement. Both sides blamed each other for the lack of progress. Since then, tensions have continued to rise.

Iran has made it clear that it may reconsider sending a Delegation in the future. However, it has set conditions for returning to the table. Tehran wants a reduction in what it calls military pressure from the United States before any further engagement.

The situation has also drawn reactions from other countries. China has criticized recent US actions, including the seizure of an Iranian cargo vessel. This has added another layer of tension to the already complex situation.

Diplomatic efforts are now facing a setback as both sides remain firm in their positions. Observers say that without trust, it will be difficult to move forward. The absence of the Iranian Delegation highlights the challenges in resolving the dispute.
