The Islamabad High Court (IHC) was informed that investigators, including NCCIA Deputy Director Muhammad Usman, have mysteriously disappeared while working on the high-profile Ducky Bhai Case.
The court heard that Muhammad Usman was allegedly abducted by four armed men on October 14. His wife, Rozina Usman, who filed a petition seeking his recovery, also went missing after submitting the case. Advocate Raja Rizwan Abbasi represented her in court.
DSP Legal Sajid Cheema informed the IHC that other investigators involved in the Ducky Bhai Case have also gone missing. The case was originally being investigated in Lahore, but the disappearances occurred across Islamabad and Lahore.
The court expressed serious concern over the incidents and directed police to recover Deputy Director Usman within one week. Investigators were also ordered to check his WhatsApp data for clues about his abduction.
According to the DSP, Rozina Usman was last traced between Lahore and Islamabad until October 18. Her phone is now switched off, her house locked, and her children are missing. Advocate Abbasi noted that Rozina had received threats to withdraw her petition before disappearing.
CCTV footage shows the last known location of Deputy Director Usman in F-6, Islamabad. The police have been given one week to locate the missing officers and access crucial data that may help solve the case.
The mysterious disappearances have raised alarms about the safety of officials working on the Ducky Bhai Case, emphasizing the need for swift action by law enforcement. The IHC will review the progress of recovery efforts during the next hearing scheduled for October 31.
