A tragic terrorist attack in Khuzdar, Balochistan, claimed the lives of at least five people, including three schoolchildren, after a school bus was deliberately targeted. Initial investigations have revealed that the assault was carried out by proxy militants allegedly backed by Indian intelligence agencies.
Several other children were injured in the attack and are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Security forces and rescue teams arrived promptly, secured the area, and launched a full-scale investigation.

According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attack is part of a broader strategy to instill fear and destabilize the region—particularly in the aftermath of failed militant efforts like Operation Bunyan um Masroor.
Security experts say such attacks on soft targets are part of an organized effort to disrupt Pakistan’s internal peace, especially in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Authorities believe these proxies are being used to carry out state-sponsored terrorism, with civilians—and increasingly children—as the main victims.
The Pakistani Armed Forces have pledged to bring all those responsible—whether planners, enablers, or perpetrators—to justice. “Using terrorism as an instrument of state policy is condemnable,” the ISPR statement said. “Those responsible and their foreign backers will be held accountable.”
The government has also vowed to raise the issue of foreign involvement in this attack on global forums. National leaders and civil society strongly condemned the violence, offering condolences and reaffirming solidarity with Pakistan’s security forces.
