Presented before Judicial Magistrate Imran Abid by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), Khan faced a request for a 14-day physical remand in connection with the case.
The charges against Riaz and his father involve obtaining a contract related to Dharabi Lake in Chakwal at an inflated price, allegedly causing financial losses to the national exchequer.

Imran Riaz Khan, a Pakistani TV show host and YouTuber, was apprehended by ACE Punjab in a late-night raid at his Lahore residence, as confirmed by his lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq on Twitter. Despite Twitter outages in Pakistan, Ashfaq stated that Khan was aware of the ACE’s move, adding, “I know the location where Imran Riaz has been kept. It is the seventh round in two years. May Allah protect the secrets of all.”
Known for his role as a political commentator and often in conflict with powerful entities in the country, Imran Riaz Khan was reportedly taken into custody from his Lahore residence in the early hours of Friday. Video clips of Khan’s arrest circulated on social media, including Twitter.
Notably, in September of the previous year, the journalist, who had become a controversial political commentator over the years, safely returned home after being detained for over four months.
During the court hearing, anti-corruption officials urged the judge to grant physical remand for further interrogation in the case. However, Imran Riaz Khan’s lawyer opposed this request. After hearing the arguments, the judge rejected the ACE’s plea for physical remand and instead ordered Imran Riaz Khan to judicial remand, sending him to jail. The case reflects the ongoing legal challenges faced by individuals in the public eye, and the judicial process will determine the outcome of the corruption allegations against Imran Riaz Khan.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
