[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Huawei has unveiled the Watch 4, a smartwatch that claims to be the industry’s first to include features related to high blood sugar risk. The watch was announced in China, and no information about its release in other countries, particularly the United States, is currently available.

The unique blood glucose feature of this smartwatch is expected to be especially useful for people with diabetes or pre-diabetes. Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s consumer CEO, stated that it is the result of research on high blood sugar risk assessment.

Although no demos are currently available, a Huawei promotional video suggests that the watch will send an alert if it detects a potential risk of high blood sugar levels. Furthermore, the watch is said to have a “micro-physical examination function” that can measure ten health indicators in a minute.

The precise operation of the Huawei Watch 4’s high blood sugar alert technology is unknown. According to Huawei Central, the watch uses metrics such as heart rate, pulse wave characteristics, and more, making additional hardware beyond the traditional optical heart rate sensor array unnecessary.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
