A recent survey conducted by the bank revealed that 46 percent of the population is unaware of such forgeries. The bank explained that with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI), criminals can clone a person’s voice using just a few seconds of their audio, which is easily accessible from social media.

Fraudsters can then identify family members and use the fake voice to make immediate monetary demands.

According to the survey, eight percent of individuals said they would transfer money if asked, even if the call seemed suspicious. Furthermore, 28 percent believe they were targeted by AI voice cloning scams in the past year.
