The Ministry of Religious Affairs has changed the schedule for Hajj 2027 applications. The process will now begin on August 18 instead of August 17.
Applications and payments will be accepted through Habib Bank branches on a first-come, first-served basis. The government will stop accepting applications once the allocated quota is filled.
Pakistan has received a total Hajj quota of 179,210 pilgrims for 2027. The government scheme will receive 107,526 seats, representing 60 percent of the total quota.
The remaining 71,684 seats have been allocated to the private Hajj scheme. This represents 40 percent of Pakistan’s total quota for Hajj 2027.
Hajj expenses will be collected in two equal instalments. Applicants will have to pay half of the total amount when submitting their applications.
The ministry has also introduced a new provision for Pakistan Origin Card holders. They will be included in the Hajj 2027 quota for the first time.
Under the new arrangement, 1 percent of Pakistan’s total quota has been reserved for Pakistani-origin POC holders. This amounts to 1,792 seats for eligible applicants.
POC holders will be able to apply through both the government and private Hajj schemes. Their applications will remain subject to Saudi visa requirements.
Applicants must also meet all relevant legal and administrative requirements. Any restrictions could affect their eligibility to perform Hajj under the new arrangement.
The first-come, first-served system means applicants are expected to submit their forms and payments promptly. Applications could close once the available government quota is reached.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs is expected to provide further details regarding the application process. It will also publish the complete terms and conditions on its official website.
The revised date gives intending pilgrims an additional day to prepare their documents and funds. Applicants should carefully review the requirements before submitting their applications.
The Hajj 2027 arrangements are part of Pakistan’s preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage season. The government scheme will accommodate more than half of the country’s total quota.
The inclusion of POC holders is also a notable change in the Hajj 2027 policy. It provides eligible Pakistan-origin applicants with an opportunity to join the pilgrimage through the designated quota.
