Government Reduces Time for Normal Passport Delivery

The government has updated passport processing timelines, reducing waiting periods for applicants and introducing a more streamlined system across all major services.

Under the revised priority system for Machine Readable Passports (MRP), fast-track applications will now be completed within two working days. Urgent applications will be processed and issued within five working days, offering a quicker option for those needing passports in a short time.

For the normal category, the delivery time has also been improved. Applicants will now receive their passports within 21 working days after successful processing, making the system more efficient than before.

The fast-track service will remain available in 47 cities, allowing applicants in major urban areas to benefit from the quickest turnaround time of just two working days. The urgent category continues to serve those who need documents sooner than the standard process but at a moderate pace compared to fast-track service.

Although fast-track and urgent options are designed for quicker delivery at higher fees, the reduced processing time for normal applications is expected to benefit a larger number of citizens who rely on standard services.

With these updated timelines, applicants are encouraged to choose the category that best fits their needs based on urgency and cost. The new system aims to improve convenience, reduce delays, and make passport services more efficient for the public.
