ISLAMABAD – The federal government plans to cut costs for the upcoming Hajj, with a significant reduction of one lakh rupees in government expenses, ensuring no compromise in service quality. Pilgrims are now allowed a 30kg suitcase each, with female pilgrims receiving scarves bearing the national flag.
The minister emphasized the utility of a mobile application aiding pilgrims with navigation and constant communication with Pakistani officials. The app, currently available in English and Urdu, will soon include other languages.

Integration of Islamabad and Karachi into Saudi Arabia’s Road to Makkah project simplifies immigration procedures. Pakistan has been allocated 179,000 Hajj seats, with half filled by private operators, monitored by the ministry for pilgrim well-being.
Expenses breakdown excludes Qurbani. Intending pilgrims opting for a shorter stay in Medina receive a Rs35,000 discount. Applications accepted from November 27th to December 12th, introducing a Short Hajj package for a 20-25 day duration, and clarifying the Long Hajj package as more economical.
