In the meeting, the leaders stressed the importance of unity within the Muslim community (Ummah) in response to Israeli actions against Palestine.
Ismail Haniya expressed that Israel was attempting to change the historical significance of the first Qibla by oppressing Palestine, and it was the duty of the Muslim Ummah to unite against Israeli atrocities. He also highlighted that some countries claiming to uphold human rights were supplying weapons to Tel Aviv, underscoring the need for collective action from the Muslim world.
Khaled Meshaal, a senior Hamas leader, expressed solidarity with both the Kashmiri and Palestinian people, who had long endured hardships. He pointed out that the ongoing atrocities in Kashmir and Palestine were a contradiction to the human rights claims made by developed countries, whose hands were stained with the blood of innocent children and women.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman called on the Muslim Ummah to actively support their Palestinian brothers. He emphasized that the Palestinians were not just fighting for their land but also for the preservation of the first Qibla, representing the collective duty of the Muslim Ummah.
The gathering concluded with a prayer for the martyrs and the speedy recovery of the injured. Maulana Rashid Mahmud Soomro and Mufti Abrar Ahmed from JUI Sindh also accompanied Fazlu Rehman.
