Father And Son Murder Two Sisters In Vehari Honor Killing

Another distressing incident of ‘honour killing’ has emerged in southern Punjab, where two sisters were murdered by their own father, brother, and relatives due to their love marriages.

According to local media reports, Siad Hussain Dhadhi, along with his son and three relatives, orchestrated the killing of his two daughters, who had chosen to marry independently and were brought back home following a community council decision.

The tragic event took place in Pull 19/WB village under the jurisdiction of Machhiwal police station in Vehari district.

Following the sound of gunfire and chaos, a police patrol team swiftly raided Siad Hussain Dhadhi’s outhouse upon receiving a tip-off. Upon entry, they discovered two women, identified as Ms. Nishat, wife of Saeed, and Ms. Afshan, wife of Umair, lying lifeless in a pool of blood.

The police reported that the suspects, later identified as Siad Dhadhi, his son Asim, and their relatives Adnan, Afshal, and Riaz, fled under the cover of darkness.

The bodies were transported to Vehari District Headquarters Hospital for a postmortem examination.

A case has been filed under sections 302, 311, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The police noted in the First Information Report (FIR) that the victims’ father and brother harbored resentment towards them and allegedly murdered them in the name of honour.
