In another incident earlier this year, a police officer in Sadiqabad, Pakistan, was suspended for assaulting a foreign cyclist. Sadiqabad District Police Officer (DPO) Rizwan Umar Gondal took action against the assistant sub-inspector involved, ordering departmental proceedings against him.
According to Gondal, three foreign cyclists were given security upon entering Sadiqabad Tehsil of Rahim Yar Khan District from Sindh Province, following standard operating procedures. However, a confrontation arose when the cyclists declined security, resulting in a clash with the police.
