In Islamabad, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, a former Prime Minister and PML-N leader, was prevented from leaving the country at the Islamabad airport due to his inclusion on the no-fly list. Reports indicate that he was planning to travel to China on flight CZ6008 when authorities intervened, preventing him from boarding.

Subsequently, following the Supreme Court’s nullification of amendments to the NAB laws, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has reopened 28 cases, including the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) reference, against Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Earlier, these cases had been returned to the NAB by an accountability court, citing amendments made to the law during the PDM-led government.

Abbasi has been a vocal critic of the NAB and has called for its abolition, citing concerns about its involvement in political manipulation.
