Dubai authorities have introduced a specialized call center service designed to assist children, aged between 7 and 12, with inquiries related to immigration and visa procedures. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai initiated this feature to allow children to seek information on visas, passport renewal, travel processes, and even obtain recommendations on local attractions through a dedicated hotline. Lt Col Khalil I. Mohamed, head of the customer wellbeing section at GDRFA, emphasized that this initiative not only provides accurate information to children but also aims to collect their insights for potential service enhancements.

The newly introduced children’s hotline is an extension of the existing specialized passport control counters dedicated to children at all Dubai International Airport (DXB) terminals. These services collectively aim to improve the travel experience for young passengers. At the airport, children are offered the opportunity to stamp their passports, introducing an interactive element to their journey.

The child-friendly call service is accessible both within the UAE and internationally. Children can dial the toll-free Amer call center at 8005111 (for those within the UAE) and +971 4 313-9999 (for those outside the country). The hotline personnel are trained to interact effectively with young callers, using a welcoming and pleasant voice prompt. The menu number is 3 for English and 4 for Arabic.

It is essential to note that the call center is specifically designated for children, and parents are encouraged to use the regular Amer call center, which operates 24/7, for inquiries about their children’s visa status. This initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to creating a more accessible and child-friendly immigration and travel experience.
