China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan have jointly supported the extension of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) into Afghanistan to boost regional trade and development.
During an informal meeting in Beijing on Wednesday, the three nations reaffirmed their commitment to cooperation as a core strategy for enhancing regional security and economic connectivity.

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi explored ways to strengthen diplomatic ties and improve communication. Discussions focused on practical steps to expand trade, infrastructure, and shared prosperity.
A key outcome was the agreement to enhance collaboration under China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), with an emphasis on integrating Afghanistan into CPEC for greater regional connectivity.
The leaders also highlighted a united stance on fighting terrorism and promoting long-term peace and development in the region.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office confirmed that the 6th Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will soon be held in Kabul, reflecting the countries’ continued efforts toward regional cooperation and stability.
