[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]ISLAMABAD – The Upper House of the Parliament formally began its golden jubilee celebrations on Tuesday, with Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani inaugurating a photo exhibition on the occasion.
President Dr Arif Alvi has also called a special commemorative session of the House for today (Wednesday) to mark the house’s golden jubilee.
The house will remain in session for three days. Sanjrani also unveiled the Senate Golden Jubilee Theme Song, which is a testament to the house’s contribution to Pakistan’s democratic process, according to a statement issued by the Senate Secretariat.
Chairman Senate announced the issuance of a commemorative coin and postal stamp to mark this special occasion. “These will serve as lasting reminders of the Senate’s 50-year journey and its important role in the country’s political landscape,” the statement added.

Finally, Chairman Senate Sanjrani planted a sapling in Parliament House’s yard to demonstrate the Upper House’s commitment to nurturing and growing democracy in Pakistan. “Today is a watershed moment in our nation’s history,” Sanjrani said. He went on to say that the Upper House had successfully completed its remarkable journey of 50 years.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
