Authorities have started work on a new vaccination center in Karachi. The facility is being established to meet growing demand from Umrah pilgrims.
The city is preparing for an increase in vaccination requirements for travelers. Officials are expanding existing facilities while developing another center.
The Karachi Airport Dispensary vaccination center is also being upgraded. The expansion will increase the facility’s capacity to serve more people.
The upgraded airport center will have 20 vaccination counters. Ten counters will be allocated for men.
The remaining 10 counters will be designated for women. Four NADRA facilitation centers will also operate at the facility.
These centers will provide additional support for pilgrims during the process. The expanded setup is expected to improve service delivery at the airport.
Focal person Ghulam Murtaza Shah shared details about the arrangements. He said authorities are also upgrading the Jacob Lines Dispensary.
The Jacob Lines Dispensary is located near Saddar in Karachi. The facility has been upgraded to hospital status as part of the preparations.
A new vaccination center is also being established at the Jacob Lines facility. The center will have a significantly larger number of counters.
The new facility will have 40 counters in total. Twenty counters will be available for men.
Another 20 counters will be reserved for women. NADRA facilitation centers will also operate at the Jacob Lines location.
Officials expect the new vaccination center to become operational within two weeks. The facility will provide another location for people requiring vaccination services.
The expansion is aimed at improving arrangements for Umrah pilgrims. Authorities are preparing additional capacity to handle the expected increase in demand.
The airport facility will continue providing vaccination services during the expansion. Its additional counters are expected to help manage visitor numbers more efficiently.
Ghulam Murtaza Shah also provided an important update about travel arrangements. He said unvaccinated Umrah pilgrims can travel until September 25.
Pilgrims who have not received vaccination should complete the process within the available period. They should also follow instructions issued by relevant authorities.
The additional vaccination center will provide greater access to health services. It is also expected to reduce pressure on existing facilities.
NADRA facilitation centers will support pilgrims with related documentation services. Their presence will make the process more convenient for visitors.
Authorities are working to complete the new arrangements within the announced timeframe. The Jacob Lines center is expected to open within two weeks.
