Capital Hospital CDA has achieved a medical milestone by performing Pakistan’s first robotic bariatric surgery during the 2nd Pakistan Obesity Week, signaling a new chapter in advanced surgical care.
The groundbreaking operation was inaugurated by CDA Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who emphasized the administration’s dedication to bringing world-class medical innovations to residents and CDA employees.

Dr. Naeem Taj, Executive Director of CDA Hospital, outlined the benefits of robotic-assisted procedures, including enhanced precision, reduced invasiveness, and quicker recovery times, making it a safer alternative to conventional surgery.
The week-long medical event featured live surgeries, hands-on workshops, and expert panels, drawing prominent bariatric surgeons from Pakistan, the UAE, Turkey, and Taiwan to foster global knowledge exchange.
CPSP President Prof. Dr. Shoaib Shafi lauded the initiative, while Chairman Randhawa announced future plans to expand robotic surgery programs, positioning CDA Hospital as a national leader in cutting-edge surgical technology.
