Bilawal told the National Assembly that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman had forced his party into a blind alley. He also urged world leaders to work together to eliminate the threat of terrorism.

“First and foremost, there is a need to restore political stability in Pakistan.” To achieve political stability, the future government and opposition [following the next general elections] must act responsibly while adhering to the Charter of Democracy.”

Bilawal, the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), emphasised the importance of developing a clear road map for achieving political and economic stability through involving reconcilable opposition members.
“I will try to do politics in a positive way so that we can move forward in resolving this country’s problems.” However, correct identification [of the fundamental causes] is also required to overcome these issues,” he added.
The PPP chairman claimed that the PTI chairman’s persistence had led his party into a blind alley following the May 9 attacks and damage at military facilities and martyrs’ monuments.
He continued that the PTI chairman was repeatedly requested by legislative forums to distance himself from the May 9 happenings, but he ignored them, and as a result, his party was in danger today.
“On May 9, PTI protesters attacked Jinnah House, military installations, the General Headquarters, and martyr monuments,” he added, adding that “those involved in the violent attacks do not deserve any leniency.”
He questioned whether the assailants would have been spared in the name of democracy if identical attacks had occurred in the United States or the United Kingdom. He cited former US President Donald Trump, who suffered blowback after his followers assailed Congress.
“There is no politics; the May 9 incidents were terrorist acts.” “The PPP will never defend those who attacked military installations, sensitive sites, and martyrs’ monuments,” he stated emphatically.
“The law provides for those involved in such heinous acts to be tried in military courts, and it is also the responsibility of parliament, government, and judiciary to establish the writ of the state at all costs.”
He further accused the PTI head of plotting an attack on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) programmes. He noted that the Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa finance ministers were also involved in the plot.
Relief from flooding
Bilawal congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for allocating monies in the budget for flood-affected areas’ restoration and rehabilitation, as well as organising resources for immediate rescue and relief of the people.
“I’d like to express my gratitude to Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.” We also thank Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. There were Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s pledges, which we see being kept,” he continued.
“We are thankful that post-flood reconstruction is underway.” “It is now in the budget,” he remarked. In addition, he advocated for improvements in all areas of the country to tackle climate change.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
