Big Suprise From PTI: Batsman If Not Bat For Eletions 2024

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]In response to the perceived risk of losing its emblematic symbol, the ‘bat,’ Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has devised a contingency plan labeled as Plan B. Under this strategy, the party is instructing its candidates to file their nominations utilizing the symbol of the ‘batsman’ within the PTI-Nazriati group.

To implement this plan, Akhtar Iqbal Dar, the chairman of PTI-Nazriati, has reportedly issued tickets to PTI candidates with the ‘batsman’ symbol, as per reliable sources.

In the event of potential challenges from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding the acceptance of these ‘batsman’ symbol tickets, PTI has directed its candidates to promptly register complaints at the district, provincial, and central election commissions. Additionally, candidates have been instructed to submit written complaints to the district and provincial election commissioners.

Proponents of Plan B within PTI argue that the symbols of ‘bat’ and ‘batsman’ bear sufficient resemblance, facilitating an easier identification for voters familiar with PTI’s traditional emblem.

As outlined by the electoral timetable, candidates are obligated to submit their party tickets before January 13, adhering to the prescribed schedule.

It is noteworthy that in June 2022, PTI initially opposed the allocation of the “batsman” symbol to its splinter group, PTI-Nazriati. At that time, the party appealed to the ECP, expressing concerns that such an allocation would generate confusion among voters. However, the ECP did not entertain PTI’s request, leading to the persistence of the ‘batsman’ symbol for PTI-Nazriati.

PTI-Nazriati was established in January 2012, following differences that arose between Dar and PTI founder Imran Khan. Dar claimed that PTI had transformed into a party of turncoats, leading to the formation of the PTI-Nazriati faction.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
