Security forces eliminated eighteen terrorists in twin intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the districts of Quetta and Kech in Balochistan province, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The operations targeted militant hideouts and culminated in decisive action against the threat, the ISPR said.
In Quetta, troops launched an IBO after receiving actionable intelligence on a group of terrorists linked to an India-backed network, according to the ISPR announcement. They moved quickly and managed to engage the armed militants, resulting in the elimination of the individuals involved.
Meanwhile, in Kech district’s Buleda area, another hideout was discovered in the general area of Buleda. Security forces encircled the location and neutralised four terrorists during the raid, the ISPR said.
The ISPR underscored that the terrorists belonged to the group Fitna‑ul‑Hindustan, which it described as being supported by external actors to carry out destabilising operations in Balochistan. The statement said the operations reflect the “clear and strong resolve” of Pakistan’s security institutions to eliminate terrorism.
The link to an earlier report sheds light on how security forces continue to thwart terror threats across the country. For instance, in a related incident, the forces had already neutralised eight terrorists during previous operations.
Security analysts say such intelligence-based operations are critical in Pakistan’s counter-terror posture because they allow for targeted strikes against networks before they enact further attacks. The successful outcome in these two districts is likely to reinforce the message that militants cannot operate with impunity in Balochistan.
While the ISPR did not provide details of captured weaponry or arrested suspects, the cumulative figure of 18 eliminated terrorists signals a notable achievement for the security forces in this volatile region. Local residents welcomed the announcement, expressing hope that militant influence would continue to diminish.
In summary, the keyword “intelligence-based operations” encapsulates the approach taken: precision strikes, real-time intelligence, and coordinated action. With 18 terrorists eliminated across Quetta and Kech in recent days, Pakistan’s security agencies have made a strong statement of resolve.
