The award ceremony was held today in Lahore, and Babar became the award’s youngest recipient at the age of 28.

Babar Azam’s exceptional skills and leadership qualities have earned him numerous awards, including the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC Men’s Cricketer of 2022, the ICC ODI Player of the Year award, and captain of the ICC ODI Team of the Year.

The right-hand batsman joins a long list of distinguished Pakistan cricketers who have received the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for their outstanding contributions to the game, including Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, and Shahid Afridi.
Babar’s absence from cricket to attend the ceremony will have no bearing on the upcoming series against Afghanistan, which is set to begin on March 24.
