Former Finance Minister Asad Umar was rushed to a hospital on Tuesday after experiencing heart-related discomfort during his appearance at an anti-terrorism court in Lahore. According to his legal representative, Umar began feeling unwell while in the courtroom, prompting a swift transfer to a vehicle waiting at the main gate. A video emerged showing Umar being carried to the vehicle by several individuals.

PTI leader Zain Qureshi accompanied Umar to the hospital, where he underwent a medical examination and tests. Doctors reported that Umar’s condition was stable and attributed his discomfort to low blood pressure, with his ECG test results appearing normal. Earlier in June, Umar had been hospitalized in Karachi due to back issues.
Umar is facing several charges, including vandalism and involvement in the cypher case related to the violence on May 9. He had resigned from his position as PTI secretary general shortly after the riots and announced his retirement from politics in November of the previous year.
