In a shocking robbery, armed assailants in Karachi snatched Rs 2.5 million from a poultry farm businessman and shot his security guard in the head, leaving him critically injured. The incident occurred as the businessman, Farhan, was on his way to deposit the money at a bank, accompanied by his friend and security guard, near Korangi No.2.
The robbers, driving a white Suzuki Alto, blocked the businessman’s car and demanded the money. When Farhan resisted, the robbers opened fire, striking his security guard, 35-year-old Amir Ahmed, in the head. The robbers fled the scene with the money, leaving Amir in critical condition. He was rushed to Jinnah Hospital for emergency treatment.

The incident took place just as Eidul-Fitr approaches, a time when street crimes in the city tend to increase. SSP Korangi Tariq Nawaz and his team arrived at the scene shortly after the robbery, launching an immediate investigation. Crime scene investigators collected evidence, and police retrieved CCTV footage from the area to track down the suspects.
Authorities have initiated an investigation, using both technical and human intelligence, and have conducted geo-fencing of the area. The police are hopeful of apprehending the suspects within the next 24 hours.
This robbery follows another recent incident in which Rs 1.15 million was stolen from the staff of the Peoples Bus Service in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Hadeed area, highlighting a concerning rise in armed robberies across the city.
