Opposition leader Achakzai has urged both Pakistan and Afghanistan to engage in dialogue to reduce rising tensions. He stressed that conflicts between neighboring countries are dangerous and must be handled responsibly.
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament House in Islamabad, Achakzai said the situation has not yet reached a point where discussions are impossible. He encouraged both nations to resolve issues through talks rather than confrontation.
Achakzai highlighted that both Pakistan and Afghanistan have people capable of calming tensions. He warned that rising hostilities benefit the enemies of both countries. “Escalation between two Muslim countries is inappropriate,” he said, urging caution among leaders.
He further emphasized that even during major wars, negotiations continue. “I am an advocate of peace and will play my role if asked,” Achakzai added. He said he would encourage leaders to pursue peaceful solutions and avoid unnecessary conflicts.
Commenting on regional issues, Achakzai noted that Iran is facing challenges that are beyond the current government’s capacity to resolve. He emphasized that Pakistan should focus on its own diplomatic efforts and avoid unnecessary involvement in regional disputes.
When asked about Rana Sanaullah welcoming his offer for dialogue, Achakzai responded positively. He said cooperation and open communication are essential to ensure stability and peace in the region.
Political analysts say Achakzai’s remarks reflect growing calls for diplomacy and peaceful conflict resolution in South Asia. His message underscores the importance of negotiation, mutual respect, and dialogue between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Achakzai concluded by urging leaders from both countries to prioritize dialogue over confrontation. He emphasized that maintaining peace and stability benefits citizens and the entire region.
