[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – In response to the continued influx of tourists from Pakistan, Azerbaijan has decided to launch direct flights between the two countries.
Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Khazar Farhadov confirmed the news that Azerbaijan Airlines will begin direct flights to several Pakistani cities, including Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad.
Mr Farhadov also stated that his country’s flag carrier is considering starting direct flights to industrial locations in order to boost trade between Islamabad and Baku.
During his visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI), the envoy acknowledged that flights operated by Pakistan International Airlines contributed to the improvement of bilateral trade.

The envoy also stated that two friendly countries have formed Working Groups under the Joint Ministerial Commission to advance bilateral ties in agriculture, trade, banking, information technology, tourism, transportation, energy, and health.
As Virgin Atlantic and other airlines leave Pakistan, other airlines are eyeing the routes from the South Asian country. Ethiopian Airlines, for example, plans to connect Pakistan with the rest of Africa by beginning regular flights from Karachi to Addis Abeba next month.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
